About Me

“I’m inspired by nature and its ability to break down the man-made world. I see beauty in everyday objects and my multimedia works use these objects to balance the three-dimensional with the two-dimensional. Most people don’t take the time to think about or appreciate everyday objects; they cast aside the majesty of dilapidated barns that are slowly returning back to the earth from neglect. They cease to take a moment to enjoy the beauty around them. I explore these themes in my work by combining painted images with objects from our world, and use them to bring you into mine. In my world people will see the importance of the unobserved and gain a completely new perspective.

My works that focus on neglected aging architecture, like “Long Forgotten in a Field” or “Falling to Pieces without You” reflect the loss of appreciation for workmanship in housing and our lack of desire for restoration. In representing the dilapidated buildings and displaying decaying objects I am trying to document the value and the memories that cling to them. These works are part of one collective idea that we have misplaced what is valuable in our society. These pieces are connected to the three-dimensional world as are all of my creations; they entice people to look closer and continue to question the reasons behind my decisions.”
